Potomac Divisional Rally
Potomac Divisional Rally
The NCB was the duty band for a rally inaugurating the newly formed Potomac Division of The Salvation Army, held in the ballroom of the Westfields Marriott Dulles Hotel, just outside of Washington, D.C. The rally was led by divisional leaders Lt. Col's. Carolee and Mark Israel, with territorial leaders Commissioners Willis and Barbara Howell and Colonels Ralph and Susie Bukiewicz also participating.
The band's contribution began with a fifteen-minute prelude concert featuring pieces written by composers associated with the band, including "Golden Daybreak" (Paul Kellner), "Jesus Is The Sweetest Name I Know" (James Anderson), and "Breathe" (Steve Kellner). Highlights of the program included the performance of "New Frontier" (William Himes) to accompany a video presentation of the history of the two merging divisions and the retirement of their respective divisional flags, and the premiere of the divisional march of the Potomac Division, "River Gathering" (Steve Kellner), played during the procession of the new divisional flag.
