NCAC Concert & Prayer Walk

Oct 24, 2021

On October 24th the NCB played a concert at the Sylvan Theater, on the grounds of the Washington Monument, in support of the National Capital Area Command's annual Prayer Walk.  Over 100 Salvationists from NCAC corps gathered for the event, which was led by Majors Mark & Rhea Woodcock.  Several passersby who stopped to listen to the concert joined the prayer walk that followed.

Among the pieces the band performed was Richard Phillips' arrangement of "Amazing Grace" and the trombone solo "Blessed Assurance", by William Himes, with Kevin Downing as soloist.  NCB Executive Officer, Major Bobby Westmoreland, presented a devotional, and the concert ended with Bandmaster Kellner's arrangement of John Williams' "Olympic Fanfare & Theme".
